Story
L'origine dell'orologio a cucù risale al XVIII secolo nella regione tedesca della Foresta Nera. Questi orologi nacquero dall'abilità degli artigiani locali, che combinavano la falegnameria con la meccanica orologiera. Inizialmente semplici, si evolvettero rapidamente in complesse sculture lignee che raffiguravano scene di caccia, natura e vita quotidiana. Il suono caratteristico, che imita il verso del cuculo, non solo scandiva le ore ma portava in casa un pezzo della natura selvaggia. La tradizione è stata poi abbracciata e reinterpretata dagli scultori della Val Gardena, che hanno elevato la qualità dell'intaglio decorativo a veri e propri oggetti d'arte, unendo la precisione meccanica tedesca all'eccellenza scultorea italiana.
