A work that blends the elegance of stylized form with the primordial strength of nature. The Dolfi Angel with Candle is a unique sculpture, designed to bring a rustic and meditative touch to any environment, celebrating the union between spirituality and raw material.
The figure's body is covered with a layer of natural bark, whose dark tones and rough, cracked texture create a fascinating material contrast. This choice enhances the organic and earthy aspect of the figure, recalling the deep roots of Val Gardena craftsmanship and the intrinsic link to the Alpine environment. The silhouette includes the suggestion of a wing on the back, giving a sense of movement and lightness.
The two-dimensional sculpture, yet rich in depth thanks to the layers of wood, is masterfully finished. The structural part and the smoothed elements, such as the edge and the candle flame, are carved from maple wood, a material chosen for its fineness and ability to retain precise details, as is fitting for all our sculptures under 56 cm. The "flame", of a light, almost lunar color, is a luminous symbol of hope held firmly forward.
