Wood carvers in South Tyrol - tradition of Gardena craftsmanship

In Val Gardena the tradition of wood carving has survived to this day and still represents an important economic sector.

Visitors and art lovers appreciate the excellent quality and traditional figures.

Dolfi still uses tools designed for generations on his own designs and produces his wooden figures exclusively in South Tyrol in a completely artisan way.

Specialized designers first design the sketches of the product. Based on these sketches, our collaborators then develop terracotta models. One of these is chosen as a master model and enlarged up to 60 cm. From this model the first model in pine or linden wood is carved. This original serves as the basis for the cast bronze model.

With this model, we prepare, through our carving machines, rough figures that are then handmade by our team to become the high quality products that you find on the market.
