Wooden Figure Girl with Flowers

This delicate sculpture of little girl figure with flowers is finely carved in wood and colored in all its details with very particular and fine pointed brushes by our artist painters and only after having practiced their craft for years, they have the permission to color the smallest details of the eyes and face. The production is 100% made in Italy and can be visited at our workers Dolfi Land in Ortisei.
Our professional carvers like to use so-called blank carvings. These are pre-milled pieces of wood. Due to cost pressure, the wood pieces are pre-milled in copy milling machines. These blanks still need to be fully carved. Depending on the quality of the milling and the details of the work, the carver can therefore produce relatively many copies of a work in a short period of time. However, a figure, for example, is considered """"hand carved"""" if it has been completely reworked with carving knives.
Pattern carving is associated with a greater degree of difficulty. It involves working a negative in depth, as opposed to the relief carving of classical relief. The additional challenge is that the left and right sides of the pattern must be reversed in the negative to reproduce the original pattern in the next one. Often sculptors carve the image in a mirror.
All originals in the children's collection with animals and flowers were sculpted by hand. Reproduction is done manually with machines called pantographs.
