Our Lady of Lourdes has become a highly venerated image in the Catholic tradition and represents a symbol of hope, faith and love. The wooden sculpted statue of the Madonnina of Lourdes, created by the Dolfi artists, is a work of art of great beauty and great artistic and religious value. The figure was carved with great skill, accurately reproducing the features of the Madonna's face and the details of her white and blue dress. The Madonnina of Lourdes was hand-painted in delicate and harmonious colours, creating an effect of great refinement and elegance. The statue is a unique and precious work of art, ideal to enrich the collection of religious statues and to create an atmosphere of great spirituality and devotion. Between February and 16 July 1858, Bernadette Soubirous, a young shepherdess, was visited by an apparition of the Virgin Mary.
