San Zeno Patron Saint of the beautiful city of Verona. San Zeno, a Moor probably from Mauritania, was bishop of Verona from 362 until his death. He founded the first church and to this day he is remembered with affection and devotion by the people of Verona for sixteen centuries. For the holy bishop, who was considered a fisherman, which is why he is depicted with a fish, the splendid Basilica called the Basilica of San Zeno was built, which is one of the oldest and most glorious monuments in Verona. San Zeno is celebrated on 12 April.
